What's up, y'all! I'm the one-and-only Friendly Motors (or, call me Motto as you like!), a young Japanese Australian illustrator that draws cars, cars, cars and CARS! I also have a passion on video games, as well as sitcoms, cartoons, black comedy, anime, toys, collecting things and SO MANY MORE!
I've been (and had a passion on!) drawing since I was little, because I had so many fun drawing my favourite cartoon characters. My left hand is the dominant one, but I don't seem to go well with my right hand.
As you may have seen, I grew up onto having a HUGE PASSION on cars since I was in primary school. I first made little drawings of cars that I see on the road in 2016, and then practiced more and more 'till my art style has DRAMATICALLY improved. I got my passion on cars from my dad, because he liked cars himself too, and always watched a lot of automotive TV shows and videos in front of me a lot of the time.
In 2017, I started to create more characters, and the second one was a Prius that was originally a female. She was a white-coloured one, and cares a lot for the environment. A little while later, I decided to refine it as a male CARacter since having a male 'shitbox' would sound interesting, then I decided to create more cool and action-packed characters using inspiration from my favourite childhood shows and video games, such as The Amazing World of Gumball, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Super Mario Brothers, Tamagotchi, etc.
In 2018, I expanded more on focusing on CarVerse, such as listening to electronic music from SoundCloud and Bandcamp which inspired me to do some animation, visualising and making montages out of. However, I wasn't sure of the programs that creates animations, so I wasn't really confident about making animations digitally, whereas I normally draw in my notebook or on a piece of paper just to create and design more characters and other ideas relating to CarVerse.
Then in 2019, I joined DeviantArt. My first post was an illustration of one of Frances' prototypes, which appears to be a two-toned blue Mustang wearing a red ball cap. Her design was inspired by those cars from Fast & Furious, and from the Need For Speed film. I continued posting consistently on that platform, until its UI has completely changed, causing a lot of users to leave and migrate to a different platform, making it a 'braindead website'.
In 2020, I joined Instagram because that was one alternative to DeviantArt to keep in touch with mutual artists like me. I posted CarVerse illustrations there as usual, and then I joined Twitter as another platform, until I decided to use it as my usual, main illustration-posting media site.
And in 2022, I joined Pixiv, ArtStation and even here on Newgrounds to expand my 'roots' of me being in the digital world. I also wanted my illustrations and works to get a lot of attention, and man, I've always wished that my fantasy became a reality, as I mean that CarVerse gets its own comic/anime/manga/series/etc., then later becomes a popular franchise, just like how Kohei Horikoshi's manga becomes a popular hit anime franchise with manga, video games, anime, films and many more.
Too much information there, eh? Well, I guess it's time to stop it right here, because I'm just giving this 'blog' thingy a try, and I just wanna say that I'll be posting CarVerse-related illustrations here, and maybe novels, one-shots, stories, videos and so many more!
